The Richland Junior High School proudly presents this new production of A Little Princess, The Musical. This engaging musical adaptation of the classic by Frances Hodgson Burnett opens with a happy Sara Crewe, heiress to a large fortune. Enrolled at Miss Minchin's seminary in Victorian England, her life takes a dramatic turn when she receives news of the loss of her father, and her fortune. Sara is forced by the greedy Minchin to become a servant and live in a wretched attic room.

Isaac and Ishmael meet to bury their father Abraham in a cave that has become one of the most revered and fiercely contested holy sites in history. Jewish, Muslim, and Christian versions of this ancient story interweave and collide, as Fred and Laura perform dozens of roles in a multimedia mix of drama, comedy, music, dance, and light and shadow magic.

Separated at an early age, the brothers do not recognize each other and each also finds it difficult to clearly remember his own childhood. Ishmael's mother Hagar has taught him a family history that prefigures The Koran and Muslim tradition, while Isaac's mother Sarah has taught him the stories as they will appear in The Bible and Jewish commentary. Together in the cave, they sort through their conflicting versions of the same events, seeking to reconcile their differences and to discover what is real.

Grand-prize winner at the 2009 Seattle International Piano Competition Ilia Radoslavov returns to Seattle and presents a piano recital that includes Beethoven’s Piano Sonata No. 30 in E major, Op. 109 (1820), Bulgarian composer Pancho Vladigerov’s Improvisation and Toccata, Opus 36, No. 4 and No. 5 (1941), and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition (1874).

One of the leading performers on Baroque and early Classical flutes in the world today, Janet See presents a program of works by Handel, Vivaldi, and Bach accompanied by fellow Cornish faculty members Byron Schenkman, harpsichord, and Margriet Tindemans, viola da gamba.

The Richland High School proudly presents the Tony Award Winning Musical in a new production of Oklahoma!

Rodgers & Hammerstein's first collaboration remains, in many ways, their most innovative, having set the standards and established the rules of musical theatre still being followed today.  Set in a Western Indian territory just after the turn of the century, the high-spirited rivalry between the local farmers and cowboys provides the colorful background against which Curly, a handsome cowboy, and Laurey, a winsome farm girl, play out their love story. Although the road to true love never runs smooth, with these two headstrong romantics holding the reins, love's journey is as bumpy as a surrey ride down a country road. That they will succeed in making a new life together we have no doubt, and that this new life will begin in a brand-new state provides the ultimate climax to the triumphant OKLAHOMA!

Guggenheim fellow and Downbeat International Critics Poll Winner Rudresh Mahanthappa is one of the most innovative young musicians working in jazz today, incorporating the culture of his Indian ancestry with myriad influences to create a truly groundbreaking artistic vision. Join us as Rudresh leads a handpicked ensemble comprised of Cornish students in this special concert. 

With his breakthrough debut release Eyes Wide Open in 2007 jazz vocalist Sachal Vasandani immediately established himself as a promising new voice in modern jazz. Two subsequent releases since then and a 2010 Downbeat "Rising Star" award have only confirmed that Vasandani is one to hear.

The Richland Theatre Boosters proudly present, The Unexpected Boys, a musical tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, and the Jersey Boys.

For the last two years, The Unexpected Boys have amazed audiences all over the world, headlining in such cities and venues as The Atlantis Hotel and Resort in Dubai, Istanbul, Athens, the Caribbean, and all over the U.S. They have opened for Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Deborah Cox, and Chubby Checker, and were recently featured on the season finale of "The Housewives of New York" on The Bravo Network.

This act is a musical tribute to Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons featuring such unforgettable hits as "Sherry," "Walk Like a Man," "Oh, What a Night," "Big Girls Don’t Cry," and many more!
